Baseball Recap: Redwood Continues Road Dominance on Thursday

Redwood barely beat Mt. Whitney the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Rangers' pitchers stepped up to hand the Pioneers an 11-0 shutout on Thursday. The victory continues a trend for the Rangers in their matchups with the Pioneers: they've now won eight in a row.

Redwood's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-7. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.3 runs over those games. As for Mt. Whitney, they are on a 12-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-19.

Coming up, Redwood will be playing at home against Porterville at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Panthers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 6.7 runs per game on average), something the Rangers will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Mt. Whitney, they are taking a road trip to challenge Golden West at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
