Softball Recap: Clinton's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Saturday

Clinton dropped their record down to 11-6 on Saturday, which also ended the team's four-game streak of wins. They came up short against the Linden Eagles, falling 7-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Redwolves have suffered since June 8, 2024.

Clinton saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kylinn Long, who went 2-for-3 with one double.

As for Linden, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 26-3. Considering they have won 20 games by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

On Linden's side, they let Morgan Piotrovsky (2025) and Sophia Helm (2025) run wild. Piotrovsky (2025) went 3-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and one double, while Helm (2025) got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI Piotrovsky (2025) has posted over her last 12 matchups. Another player making a difference was Addi Siegwald (2027), who went 1-for-3 with two runs.

Looking ahead, Clinton will head out to take on Hudson at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Redwolves are facing the Tigers at the right time seeing as the Tigers are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Linden, they will take on Lakeland in a tournament on Saturday. Linden will need to watch out since Lakeland has now posted at least ten runs in their last four contests.
