Volleyball Recap: Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop Takes a Loss

Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They came up short against the Renville County West Jaguars, falling 3-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Jaguars this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-0 last Friday.

Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop's loss dropped their record down to 1-21-1. As for Renville County West, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-8 record this season.

Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop and Renville County West could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Minnesota Rankings. The Thunderbirds (ranked 362nd) will meet Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart (ranked 33rd) at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Renville County West will take on Minneota at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank disadvantage (138 vs. 19).
