Hart County hasn't had much luck against Larue County recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Raiders are taking a road trip to take on the Hawks at 6:00 p.m.
Hart County made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Washington County, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Raiders fell just short of the Commanders by a score of 6-4 on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Raiders have suffered since May 1, 2025.
Hart County saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ethan Booher, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI and one run.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Larue County). Their pitchers stepped up to hand Caverna a 17-0 shutout on Monday. The Hawks might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight games by six runs or more this season.
Cooper Wootton was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits (and not a single walk). He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two RBI. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Brayden Singleton was incredible, firing off two home runs and six RBI while going 2-for-3. Those six RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Dekker Thomas, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI.
Larue County was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .522. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Larue County has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.6 runs over those games. As for Hart County, their loss dropped their record down to 7-13.
Hart County might still be hurting after the 9-1 defeat they got from Larue County when the teams last played back in April of 2025. Can the Raiders avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
