For the second straight game, Centennial will face off against Mayfield. The Hawks are taking a road trip to face off against the Trojans at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Centennial is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.9 runs per game this season.

Centennial fell victim to Mayfield and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Trojans. The Hawks' loss signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

Centennial got a good showing from Jonah Martinez, who tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Martinez has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one hit in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Centennial saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Isreal Molina, who went 1-for-3 with one double.

Mayfield has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-7-1 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games. As for Centennial, their defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 10-5.
