Preview: Arrowhead Christian Eagles vs. Canyon Springs Cougars
The Arrowhead Christian Eagles will be home for the holidays to greet the Canyon Springs Cougars at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Arrowhead Christian has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 562 points over their last eight games.
Even though Ontario Christian scored an imposing 55 points on Tuesday, Arrowhead Christian still came out on top. Arrowhead Christian snuck past Ontario Christian with a 59-55 victory. Despite the win, that was the fewest points Arrowhead Christian has scored all season.
Arrowhead Christian got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Tyler Young out in front who scored seven points along with six assists and six steals. Clayton Mpiana was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 20 points and 12 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Canyon Springs had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 25 points), and they went ahead and made it five on Wednesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 62-60 win over Ramona. That's two games straight that Canyon Springs has won by exactly two points.
Arrowhead Christian's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-2. As for Canyon Springs, their win bumped their record up to 7-5.
