Basketball Recap: York Starts off Right with Win over Columbia

York had to kick off their season on the road on Monday, but they showed no ill effects. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Columbia Capitals 61-59.

Zan Walling was nothing short of spectacular: he went 8-for-11 to rack up 19 points and seven boards. Those 19 points gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kyle Cripe, who posted six points in addition to seven rebounds and three steals.

Looking ahead, York won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Blythewood at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Columbia, they also won't have to wait long for more action: they'll face off against Clover at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
