League recap: Duchesne tops Monument Valley to extend winning streak

Adding to the longest winning streak in 1A - North this week, Duchesne beat Monument Valley 42-6. This was the team's 11th consecutive win.

Milford lost to Kanab 47-8 last week, the largest margin of any game.

Duchesne's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Daniel Hanberg threw for 16 and 1 touchdown and Layne Coil had 31 yards receiving. On the ground Coil chipped in 140 yards. Braxton Spencer helped Duchesne's passing attack out by catching 1 ball for 16 yards.

Jerry Cowan's team's dynamic duo of Hanberg and Coil proved to be unstoppable against the Cougars, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Spencer helped Duchesne's passing attack out by catching 1 ball for 16 yards.

Coil was a passing and rushing force as the Eagles topped Monument Valley.

Duchesne's Trent Roberts and Matt Muir have formed a dream team this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Roberts has thrown for 738 yards this season, while Muir has 11 catches for 300 yards. Wade Netto from the Tigers leads the league in rushing with 901 yards.

Netto has rushed for 901 yards on 105 carries so far this year.

The Eagles led the league in scoring this week after putting up 42 points on Jim Dandy's team. Coil ran for 140 yards and caught 1 pass for 31 yards in the win.
