Softball Recap: Summit Storm vs. Mountain View Cougars

Summit had lost 15 straight at home dating back to last season, but on Wednesday they dropped down to 0-18 to make it 16. They came up short against the Mountain View Cougars, falling 23-1. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cougars this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 10-0 back in April.

As for Mountain View, their record now sits at 14-4. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

For Mountain View's part, Janelle Guiney was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed four innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Guiney has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-5 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, Mountain View got a massive performance out of Camryn Sharp, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.
