Monrovia has gone a perfect 9-0 against La Canada recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Wildcats will square off against the Spartans at 7:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

On Friday, Monrovia didn't have quite enough to beat St. Genevieve and fell 17-14. The matchup marked the Wildcats' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Meanwhile, La Canada and South Pasadena were almost perfectly matched up on Friday, but La Canada suffered a 23-22 loss. Despite 74 more yards than the Tigers, the Spartans couldn't convert that extra yardage to scores.

This is the second loss in a row for Monrovia and nudges their season record down to 5-2. Even worse, they were so close both times: the defeats came by an average of only 2.5 points. As for La Canada, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 7-1.

Monrovia beat La Canada 28-21 when the teams last played back in October of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wildcats since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
