Preview: Sabino Sabercats vs. Morenci Wildcats

Sabino has enjoyed a three-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will take on The Morenci Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams might be coming in a bit winded given how much these teams ran in their prior games.

Last Friday, Sabino got the win against American Leadership Academy - West Foothills by a conclusive 42-21. The result was nothing new for Sabino, who have now won four contests by 21 points or more so far this season.

Cameron Hackworth continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, throwing for 325 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 11.6 yards per attempt, and also punching in a touchdown on the ground. Shamar Berryhill did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 93 receiving yards and a touchdown.

Meanwhile, Morenci got themselves on the board against Fountain Hills on Friday, but Fountain Hills never followed suit. They took their match at home with ease, bagging a 63-0 win over the Falcons. Morenci didn't have much to brag about two games back, but this victory makes it their second in a row.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Morenci to victory, but perhaps none more so than Joey Seballos, who threw for 92 yards and two touchdowns on only four passes, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. The team also got some help courtesy of Michael Casillas, who rushed for 146 yards on only 13 carries.

Their wins bumped Sabino to 6-2 and Morenci to 5-3.

Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Friday' game: Sabino has been excellent in the air this season, having averaged 296.9 passing yards per game. It's a different story for Morenci, though, as they've been averaging only 57 per game. How will Morenci fare against such a dominant passing game?
