Basketball Game Preview: Huss Huskies vs. Ashbrook Greenwave + How To Watch

Huss is preparing for their first conference matchup of the season on Friday. They will host the Ashbrook Greenwave at 7:00 p.m. One thing working in Huss' favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.

On Friday, Huss strolled past Harding University with points to spare, taking the game 78-62.

Huss' victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Zaiyir 'Zii' Phillips, who went 5-for-11 on his way to 21 points along with six assists and five rebounds. Phillips' evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least 20 points. Another player making a difference was Jaleel Smith, who shot 46% from the field en route to 21 points in addition to eight boards and seven assists.

Meanwhile, Ashbrook played a tough contest on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They lost 63-40 to North Lincoln. The Greenwave have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Huss will need to focus on slowing down Tyler Morgan, one of several Ashbrook players who made an impact when they last played. He went 5-for-11 to rack up 10 points and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Antonio Worthy, who posted 13 points.

Ashbrook now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Huss, their win bumped their record up to 5-1.

Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Huss has been crashing the boards this season, having averaged 33.3 boards per game. However, it's not like Ashbrook struggles in that department as they've been averaging 28.6 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.

Huss skirted past Ashbrook 51-48 in their previous matchup back in March. Will the Huskies repeat their success, or do the Greenwave have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
