Basketball Game Preview: Rim of the World Fighting Scots vs. Fontana Steelers

The Rim of the World Fighting Scots will venture away from home to challenge the Fontana Steelers at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Rim of the World is looking for their season's first victory.

Last Friday, Rim of the World had to suffer through a 49-22 loss at the hands of Redlands.

Meanwhile, Fontana rang in the new year with a 65-52 win over Western Christian on Saturday. Given the Steelers' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 284th, while the Fighting Lancers are ranked 948th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Fontana's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-3. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.5 points per game. As for Rim of the World, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-17.

Rim of the World beat Fontana 65-58 in their previous matchup back in January of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for Rim of the World since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
