Basketball Recap: Augusta Southeastern Comes Up Short

Augusta Southeastern lost against Brown County back in November of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Augusta Southeastern Suns lost to the Brown County Hornets at home by a 57-40 margin. While losing is never fun, the Suns can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 633rd, while the Hornets are ranked 264th).

Augusta Southeastern has traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last nine matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-16 record this season. As for Brown County, they pushed their record up to 17-8 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road.

Augusta Southeastern won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Illini West at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Brown County, they are taking a road trip to challenge Pittsfield at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
