Somerset Berkley Regional had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 3 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Wednesday. They walked away with a 7-4 victory over the Melrose Red Raiders.

The team relied heavily on Luke Thornton, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Jayden Cruz, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
