With a playoff win on the line, Hillcrest Christian rose to the challenge on Friday. They took down the Tunica Academy Blue Devils 69-53. The win was nothing new for the Cougars as they're now sitting on nine straight.

Leading Hillcrest Christian to victory were Darius Barnes and Jaivyn Carter. Barnes went 6-for-7 from beyond the arc on his way to 26 points, while Carter dropped a double-double with 17 points and 19 rebounds. Carter is becoming a predictor of Hillcrest Christian's success: when he posts at least ten boards the team is 15-4 (and 4-5 when he doesn't). Jordan Johnson was another key player, putting up nine points and eight rebounds.

Hillcrest Christian's victory bumped their record up to 19-9. As for Tunica Academy, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-7.

Looking ahead, Hillcrest Christian won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against West Memphis Christian at 4:45 p.m. on Saturday. Hillcrest Christian is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 59 points per game this season. Tunica Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
