Preview: Lena-Winslow Panthers vs. Orangeville Broncos
The Lena-Winslow Panthers will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Orangeville Broncos at 6:00 p.m. Lena-Winslow has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
Lena-Winslow put the finishing touches on their eighth blowout victory of the season on Friday. Everything went their way against Dakota as Lena-Winslow made off with a 59-33 win. With Lena-Winslow ahead 37-14 at the half, the match was all but over already.
Meanwhile, Orangeville entered their tilt with Aquin Catholic with seven consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with eight. Orangeville secured a 58-54 W over Aquin Catholic on Friday.
Orangeville got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Whitney Sullivan out in front who dropped a double-double on 30 points and 16 rebounds. Sullivan is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last four games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Nadalee Doyle, who scored 17 points along with five steals.
Lena-Winslow's win bumped their record up to 16-7. As for Orangeville, they pushed their record up to 23-1 with that win, which was their 12th straight at home.
Lena-Winslow suffered a grim 46-25 defeat to Orangeville in their previous matchup back in December of 2023. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Sullivan, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 12 rebounds.
