Softball Recap: Yulee Gets the Win

Yulee extended their postseason success on Wednesday against West Nassau. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Warriors 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Hornets have posted since April 9th.

Yulee got a great performance from Paislie Turner as she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts Turner has posted since back in March.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Carmen Overstreet, who went 1-for-3 with one home run. Jade Fisher also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.

Yulee has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-11 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.4 runs over those games. As for West Nassau, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 14-12.

Coming up, Yulee will face off against Wakulla at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The War Eagles' pitching crew has only allowed 2.7 runs per game this season, so the Hornets' hitters will have their work cut out for them. West Nassau does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
