Volleyball Recap: Marion Comes Up Short at Home Against Massac County

Marion unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They fell 2-0 to the Massac County Patriots on Tuesday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Wildcats of the 2-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in August of 2024.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 25-11.

Libbie Marie Garrett paced Marion's offense, picking up three kills. Marie Garrett got some help from Kaylin Wolfe and her six assists. Addisyn Lenon controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Marion will head out on the road to challenge Anna-Jonesboro at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Massac County, they will challenge Frankfort at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
