The Trinity-Pawling School Pride will challenge the Westminster School Martlets at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Trinity-Pawling School is coming into the matchup on a five-game losing streak.
Trinity-Pawling School had taken Hotchkiss School down for two straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Monday. The Pride fell just short of the Bearcats by a score of 7-5.
Alex Cruz put in work while hitting and pitching. He struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits (and not a single walk). That's the fewest earned runs he has allowed since back in May of 2025. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.
In other batting news, Jayvian Vazquez was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. Those RBI marked the first that he has brought in this season. Mikey Prince was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base.
Meanwhile, Westminster School was able to grind out a solid victory over Williston Northampton on Monday, taking the game 8-3. The win continues a trend for the Martlets in their matchups with the Wildcats: they've now won five in a row.
The team relied heavily on Jake Pleau, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, two stolen bases, and four RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in May of 2025. Another player making a difference was Ethan Villacis, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI.
The victory got Westminster School back to even at 4-4. As for Trinity-Pawling School, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-9.
Trinity-Pawling School suffered a grim 11-1 defeat to Westminster School in their previous meeting back in April of 2025. Can the Pride avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
