Last Tuesday, First Baptist took a serious blow against Macedonian Christian, falling 93-12. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points First Baptist has scored all season.
Meanwhile, South Texas Christian Academy was beaten by Macedonian Christian 69-27 on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, South Texas Christian Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1366th, while Macedonian Christian is ranked 607th).
Despite the defeat, South Texas Christian Academy had strong showings from Carlos Saenz, who scored 13 points along with four steals, and Jovan Ramirez, who scored seven points along with seven rebounds and five steals. That was a full 48.1% of South Texas Christian Academy's points, marking the sixth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points.
First Baptist's defeat was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-5. As for South Texas Christian Academy, they now have a losing record at 10-11.
First Baptist was taken down by South Texas Christian Academy 69-39 in their previous matchup back in January. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of South Texas Christian Academy's Gabriel Armenta, who dropped a triple-double on 14 points, 11 rebounds, and 13 assists.
