Recap: Chase County Longhorns vs. Sutherland Sailors
The Chase County Longhorns had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They simply couldn't be stopped on Thursday as they easily beat Sutherland 56-26 on the road. Chase County's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Sutherland's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Eliana Dyer, who scored nine points along with five rebounds, and Story Rasby who scored eight points. Those five rebounds set a new season-high mark for her.
Chase County's win bumped their record up to 2-3. As for Sutherland, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-5.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Chase County won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Wray at 6:00 p.m. on December 15th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in their respective states (Wray is ranked 178th in Colorado, while Chase County is ranked 168th in Nebraska). Sutherland will be home for the holidays to greet South Platte at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully South Platte focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Friday.
