Softball Recap: Battle Mountain Huskies vs. Basalt Longhorns
Battle Mountain was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They came up short against the Basalt Longhorns, falling 22-12. The Huskies were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Longhorns apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2023.
Marin Carr made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Beatrice Helland, who scored two runs.
Battle Mountain's loss dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Basalt, the win snapped their losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 5-11 record.
Battle Mountain will challenge Eagle Valley at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Basalt, they will venture away from home to square off against Delta at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Basalt is no doubt hoping to put an end to a seven-game streak of away losses dating back to last season.
