Basketball Recap: Chartiers Valley Comes Up Short

Chartiers Valley lost against Taylor Allderdice back in December of 2019 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Sunday. The Chartiers Valley Colts fell 72-63 to the Taylor Allderdice Dragons. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Friday (57), the Colts still had to take the loss.

Lukas Stead continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Taylor Allderdice, dropping a double-double on 24 points and 11 rebounds. Stead's afternoon made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Asher Schwartz, who went 7 of 11 en route to 16 points along with seven assists and seven boards.

Chartiers Valley's loss dropped their record down to 15-3. As for Taylor Allderdice, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 8-9 record this season.

Chartiers Valley and Taylor Allderdice should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings. Chartiers Valley (ranked 36th) will meet Lincoln Park Performing Arts (ranked 415th) at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Similarly, Taylor Allderdice will square off against Westinghouse at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday up 437 places (239 vs. 676).
