Softball Recap: Trinity Episcopal Comes Up Short

If Trinity Episcopal was feeling good fresh off their 19-1 takedown of Collegiate on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Titans fell just short of the Bishop Ireton Cardinals by a score of 3-2 on Wednesday. The Titans were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Cardinals apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2025.

Cooper Beatty spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on nine hits and racked up eight Ks. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 5.4 strikeouts per game.

On the hitting side, Trinity Episcopal saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ainsley McNeer, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI. Lucia Fischi was another, going 2-for-4 with one run and one double.

Trinity Episcopal now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Bishop Ireton, their record now sits at 7-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Trinity Episcopal will venture away from home to face off against St. Catherine's at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Bishop Ireton, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Paul VI at 6:30 p.m. on the 14th.
