Softball Recap: Narragansett Regional Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Narragansett Regional and Oakmont Regional pushed the score to 15-8 the last time they played Oakmont Regional, but on Friday defenses reigned supreme. The Warriors won by a run and slipped past the Spartans 2-1. Winning may never get old, but the Warriors sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Mia Manca spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on two hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Narragansett Regional saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sam Boumil, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base. That's the most hits Boumil has posted since back in April.

Narragansett Regional's record is now 11-4. As for Oakmont Regional, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-8 record this season.

Narragansett Regional will venture away from home to face off against West Boylston at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Oakmont Regional, they will host Tyngsborough at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Tigers' pitching crew has only allowed 2.5 runs per game this season, so the Spartans' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
