Baseball Game Preview: Saratoga Springs Blue Streaks vs. La Salle Institute Cadets

The Saratoga Springs Blue Streaks will face off against the La Salle Institute Cadets at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Saratoga Springs comes in on three and La Salle Institute on six.

On Wednesday, Saratoga Springs made easy work of Guilderland and carried off a 7-1 victory.

Alex Landau was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with four stolen bases and two runs. Those four stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Brady Mills was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two RBI.

Saratoga Springs kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Guilderland only managed one hit.

Meanwhile, La Salle Institute faced Shaker in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Wednesday. The Cadets walked away with a 5-1 win over the Bison.

La Salle Institute's victory was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-1. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.8 runs on average over those games. As for Saratoga Springs, their victory bumped their record up to 9-6.

Saratoga Springs skirted past La Salle Institute 4-3 when the teams last played back in April of 2022. Do the Blue Streaks have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Cadets turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
