Volleyball Game Preview: New Knoxville Rangers vs. Minster Wildcats

The New Knoxville Rangers will venture away from home to challenge the Minster Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

On Saturday, New Knoxville didn't have quite enough to beat Elida and fell 2-1.

Despite the defeat, New Knoxville saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Lela Gottschalk had 15 digs and two aces. Those 15 digs set a new season-high mark for Gottschalk.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Minster duked it out with New Bremen on Thursday. The Wildcats lost 3-0 to the Cardinals. The Wildcats' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Minster couldn't get the win, but they sure gave New Bremen a tough time in the first set. The final score came out to 30-28, 25-12, 25-19.

New Knoxville's defeat dropped their record down to 8-10. As for Minster, their loss dropped their record down to 10-9.

Everything went New Knoxville's way against Minster in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, as New Knoxville made off with a 3-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Rangers since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
