Softball Recap: Goldwater Comes Up Short

Goldwater couldn't beat Paradise Honors on Thursday even though they stacked four runs on them in the fifth inning. The Bulldogs lost 15-5 to the Panthers. The Bulldogs have struggled against the Panthers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meeting.

Johanna Hampton and Avrie White stepped up to the plate in a big way. Hampton went 1-for-3 with one home run and one stolen base, while White went 1-for-2 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. That triple marked the first that White has hit this season.

Goldwater's loss dropped their record down to 4-11. As for Paradise Honors, the victory (which was their 12th in a row) raised their record to 15-7.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Goldwater will challenge Moon Valley at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. The Bulldogs are facing the Rockets at the right time seeing as the Rockets are stuck on a 15-game losing streak. As for Paradise Honors, they will face off against Bradshaw Mountain at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Panthers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bears have averaged an impressive 6.3 runs per game this season.
