Union Mine dropped their record down to 8-10 on Monday, which also ended the team's five-game streak of wins. They fell just short of the Cordova Lancers by a score of 3-1. Having soared to a lofty ten runs in the game before, the Diamondbacks couldn't push the score so high this time.

Andrew Schurmann spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three runs (all of which were unearned) on five hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Union Mine saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Matt Manfredi, who went 2-for-3 with one run.

As for Cordova, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-8-1. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of two runs across that stretch.

On Cordova's side, they also let their pitcher toss all seven innings and he was also dialed-in: Levi Nyberg gave up a run (which was unearned) on two hits.

Union Mine wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 5-1 defeat against Casa Roble on the 14th. As for Cordova, they have also already played their next game, a 9-8 loss against Bear River on the 15th.
