Softball Recap: South Bend Adams Eagles vs. New Prairie Cougars
After flying high against Mishawaka Marian last Saturday, South Bend Adams came back down to earth. The Eagles fell just short of the New Prairie Cougars by a score of 13-12 on Tuesday. The defeat continues a trend for the Eagles in their meetings with the Cougars: they've now lost four in a row.

Abby Kadar was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. She struck out six batters over 3.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-4.
In other batting news, Julia McNellis made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one double. Zariyah Wiley was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.
South Bend Adams' loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 3-2. As for New Prairie, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-3 record this season.
