Volleyball Game Preview: D'Evelyn Jaguars vs. Alameda Pirates

The D'Evelyn Jaguars will challenge the Alameda Pirates at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

D'Evelyn took a three-set defeat the last time they faced off against Bear Creek, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Jaguars skirted past the Bears 3-2.

D'Evelyn was staring down a 2-1 deficit headed into the fourth set, but they rallied to take the next two for the win. The final score came out to 25-17, 18-25, 22-25, 25-22, 15-7.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Alameda, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They came out on top against Addenbrooke Classical Academy by a score of 3-1 on Wednesday. The Pirates haven't had any issues with the Mustangs recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

The win didn't come easy: Addenbrooke Classical Academy scored at least 20 points in every set. The match finished with set scores of 27-25, 25-20, 22-25, 25-23.

D'Evelyn's victory was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-1. As for Alameda, they now have a winning record of 6-5.

D'Evelyn took their win against Alameda in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 3-0 score. Will the Jaguars repeat their success, or do the Pirates have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
