Two dominant signal callers in Reid McBride and Davis Barnett are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Montgomery Academy Eagles will head out on the road to challenge the Bayside Academy Admirals at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Montgomery Academy sitting on six straight victories and Bayside Academy on 11.
Montgomery Academy is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They claimed a resounding 38-0 win over Lee-Scott Academy. Considering the Eagles have won nine games by more than 25 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Montgomery Academy found their leader in sophomore Ali Nelson, who rushed for 100 yards and three scores. Nelson's rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 100 rushing yards.
Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Montgomery Academy proved: they limited Lee-Scott Academy to a paltry -1.3 yards per carry. While three picked up at least five total tackles, Nelson stood above the rest. He rushed for 100 yards and three TDs. Montgomery Academy hasn't allowed more than 5.6 yards per carry in five consecutive matchups.
Montgomery Academy's defense didn't let Max Hammer, get away unscathed either: they got into the backfield for four sacks. Lee-Scott Academy's QB won't forget Braden Gordon anytime soon given he sacked him twice.
Meanwhile, Bayside Academy blew past Randolph County, posting a 47-7 victory. The Admirals are also no stranger to big wins: their blowout on Friday was the ninth contest they've won by 20+ points this season.
Montgomery Academy better keep an eye on Brennen Yamane. He was instrumental in Bayside Academy's win, rushing for 32 yards and three touchdowns. Those three rushing touchdowns gave Yamane a new career-high.
Bayside Academy didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Monroe Partin, Amos McDaniel, and Noah Cain picked up one apiece.
Montgomery Academy's record now sits at 11-1. As for Bayside Academy, their record is now an identical 11-1.
We should be in store for an exciting game as the two teams have no problem gaining yardage. Montgomery Academy has been on an offensive roll this season, having averaged 402.8 total yards per game. However, it's not like Bayside Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 378.6 total yards. With a pair of commanding offenses duking it out, the defenses are going to have their work cut out for them.
Montgomery Academy beat Bayside Academy 26-13 in their previous meeting back in November of 2017. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
