Basketball Recap: Wall Comes Up Short

Wall was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They took a blow against the Abilene Eagles, falling 67-35. While losing is never fun, the Hawks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 687th, while the Eagles are ranked 171st).

Wall's defeat dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Abilene, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Wall and Sweetwater will compete for holiday cheer at 1:15 p.m. on Friday. Sweetwater has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. Abilene will take on Permian in a holiday battle at at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with Abilene sitting on three straight victories and Permian on six.
