Softball Recap: Socastee Comes Up Short

Socastee suffered their closest defeat since March 31, 2025 on Friday. They fell just short of the Waccamaw Warriors by a score of 10-8. The Braves were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Warriors earlier this season, when they won 11-10.

Michelle Gough was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. Another player making a difference was Mahaila Lowe, who went 1-for-3 with two runs.

Socastee's loss was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 5-16. As for Waccamaw, their record now sits at 9-17.

Socastee does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Waccamaw, they will head out on the road to square off against Silver Bluff at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
