Basketball Recap: Wiregrass Kings vs. East Central HomeSchool Patriots
Wiregrass was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 14th straight defeat. They fell 67-58 to the East Central HomeSchool Patriots. The Kings were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Patriots apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2024.

Despite the loss, Wiregrass still got an impressive performance from Brayden Treadaway, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 14 rebounds. The dominant performance gave Treadaway a new career-high in boards. Another player making a difference was Graysen Ellison, who posted 12 points and seven rebounds.
Even though they lost, Wiregrass smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as East Central HomeSchool only pulled down eight offensive boards.
East Central HomeSchool was led to victory by Greyson Boyd and Josiah Dumas. Boyd shot 7-for-11 from long range and dropped a double-double on 32 points and ten boards, while Dumas almost dropped a double-double on 18 points and nine rebounds. Dumas is also on a roll when it comes to blocks, as he's now posted two or more in the last five games he's played. Jack Taylor was another key player, putting up five points.
Wiregrass' defeat dropped their record down to 6-16. As for East Central HomeSchool, they now have a winning record of 7-6.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Tuscaloosa Home Educators the next time they take the court. Wiregrass will head out to face Tuscaloosa Home Educators at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, while East Central HomeSchool will head out to face them at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
