Baseball Game Preview: Lincoln Railsplitters vs. Centennial Chargers

Lincoln has gone a perfect 3-0 against Centennial recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Railsplitters are taking a road trip to square off against the Chargers at 6:30 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Saturday, Lincoln made easy work of Lanphier and carried off a 13-2 win. The Railsplitters haven't had any issues with the Lions recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive victory against them.

Meanwhile, Centennial hadn't done well against Mt. Zion recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Chargers came out on top in a nail-biter against the Braves, sneaking past 3-2. The win was nothing new for the Chargers as they're now sitting on four straight.

The team relied heavily on Cal Meyers, who went 2-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Lincoln pushed their record up to 15-16 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Centennial, the victory got them back to even at 15-15.

Lincoln was able to grind out a solid win over Centennial in their previous matchup back in May of 2023, winning 7-2. Will the Railsplitters repeat their success, or do the Chargers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
