Baseball Recap: East Troy Has No Trouble Against Edgerton

East Troy lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Edgerton, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Friday's contest. The Trojans were the clear victors by a 12-5 margin over the Crimson Tide on Friday. The Trojans might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matchups by seven runs or more this season.

Mason Beaver made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He tossed 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kellen Pluess, who went 1-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April. Seth Lingford was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.

East Troy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in three consecutive games.

East Troy's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-5. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Edgerton, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-8.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. East Troy will host Racine Saint Catherine?s/Racine Lutheran at 4:45 p.m. on Monday. As for Edgerton, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Big Foot at 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
