Basketball Recap: Faribault Comes Up Short

Faribault lost to Mayo back in January of 2025 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Falcons took a hard 77-58 fall against the Spartans. While losing is never fun, the Falcons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota basketball rankings (they are ranked 207th, while the Spartans are ranked 47th).

Faribault's loss dropped their record down to 4-8. As for Mayo, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 9-3.

Faribault will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Austin at 7:30 p.m. on the 23rd. As for Mayo, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 61-60 win against Owatonna on the 13th.
