Basketball Game Preview: Blanchester Wildcats vs. Williamsburg Wildcats

Blanchester is 1-9 against Williamsburg since November of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Blanchester Wildcats will be playing at home against the Williamsburg Wildcats at 7:30 p.m.

Blanchester is headed into Thursday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fifth straight game on Monday. They took a blow against Hillsboro, falling 62-21. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 672nd, while the Indians are ranked 146th).

Meanwhile, Williamsburg entered their tilt with Lynchburg-Clay on Monday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They were the clear victor by a 54-29 margin over the Mustangs. The Wildcats have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 contests by 25 points or more this season.

Blanchester's loss dropped their record down to 4-12. As for Williamsburg, their victory bumped their record up to 15-2.

Blanchester took a serious blow against Williamsburg when the teams last played back in December of 2024, falling 64-25. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point Blanchester was down 39-13.
