Basketball Recap: Waterford Comes Up Short

Waterford lost against Windham back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Waterford Lancers lost 52-30 to the Windham Whippets. The match marked the Lancers' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Windham got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jaida Green out in front who dropped a double-double on ten points and 11 rebounds. Green has been hot, having posted eight or more boards the last eight times she's played. Zoee Robins was another key player, going 7 for 13 on her way to 17 points along with seven steals and six assists.

Waterford's defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Windham, the victory (which was their tenth in a row) raised their record to 15-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Waterford has already played their next game (against Killingly), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Windham won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Classical Magnet at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Windham is facing Classical Magnet at the right time seeing as Classical Magnet is stuck on an 11-game losing streak.
