Football Recap: Decatur Community Red Devils vs. Dighton Hornets
After flying high against Greeley County last Friday, Decatur Community came back down to earth. The Decatur Community Red Devils fell to the Dighton Hornets 44-40. The Red Devils have struggled against the Hornets recently, as their game on Friday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Even though they lost, Decatur Community was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 359 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Dighton only rushed for 210.
Decatur Community's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Dighton, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Decatur Community will challenge Wallace County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are at an even 4-4 against one another since September of 2014, but likely not for long. As for Dighton, they will square off against Quinter on Friday.
