Soccer Recap: Rock Island Comes Up Short

Rock Island was the 3-0 winner over Sterling when they last played one another back in April of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Rocks fell just short of the Golden Warriors by a score of 3-2 on Tuesday. That's two games in a row now that Rock Island have lost by just one goal.

Martha Abuke and Olivia Samuelson scored both of Rock Island's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 11 goals.

This is the second loss in a row for Rock Island and nudges their season record down to 3-12. As for Sterling, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-16.

Coming up, Rock Island will host Davenport North at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Sterling, they will venture away from home to take on Moline at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
