Baseball Game Preview: West Jefferson Panthers vs. Challis Vikings

West Jefferson hasn't had much luck against Challis recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Panthers are taking a road trip to take on the Vikings at 4:00 p.m. West Jefferson has given up an average of 19.2 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

West Jefferson is headed into Thursday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 16th straight game dating back to last season on Tuesday. They lost 24-4 to Firth.

West Jefferson saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ryker Burtenshaw, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-1. Wyatt Pancheri was another, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 1-for-1.

Meanwhile, Challis got the win against Glenns Ferry on Saturday by a conclusive 14-8. The result was nothing new for the Vikings, who have now won five contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Jayden Shepard was incredible, scoring a run while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Roy Jones, who scored a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Challis' win bumped their record up to 9-5-1. As for West Jefferson, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-6.

West Jefferson might still be hurting after the 24-3 loss they got from Challis when the teams last played two weeks ago. Can the Panthers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
