Softball Game Preview: Avalon Eagles vs. Strawn Greyhounds

The Avalon Eagles will take on the Strawn Greyhounds at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Avalon has given up an average of 12.1 runs per game this season, but Saturday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Avalon is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Oakwood just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Monday. They lost 19-4 to the Panthers.

Kensley Lane made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with four stolen bases, one run, and one double.

Meanwhile, the third road contest was the charm for Strawn, as they earned their first away victory of the season. They blew past Ranger 8-2 last Monday. The result was nothing new for the Greyhounds, who have now won three games by six runs or more so far this season.

Strawn's win ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-2-1. As for Avalon, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-4.
