Softball Recap: North Augusta Triumphs

After losing to Midland Valley the last time they met, North Augusta decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Yellow Jackets came out on top against the Mustangs by a score of 5-1 on Thursday. The game was the first time the Yellow Jackets have beaten the Mustangs on their field since April 13, 2022.

Eleanor Brummond spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on nine hits.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Kaitlyn Mixon, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Celeste Truesdale, who went 2-for-3 with two runs.

North Augusta now has a winning record of 10-9. As for Midland Valley, with the defeat, they broke their nine-game winning streak and moved their record to 16-7.

Looking ahead, North Augusta will face off against South Aiken at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Midland Valley, they will challenge Chapin at 7:15 p.m. on Monday.
