Football Recap: South Iredell Comes Up Short Despite Brody Hunt's Big Defensive Game + How To Watch

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact South Iredell can now relate to. They fell 34-27 to the A.L. Brown Wonders on Friday. While the Vikings had to settle for second, they closed the game well in the third quarter, where they outscored the Wonders 13-6.

South Iredell didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Brody Hunt. Jon Taylor was another major factor on D, picking up four sacks, making eight total tackles (5.0 for loss), and defending one pass.

Lemar Grier produced another solid effort rushing for 185 yards and two TDs while picking up 8.0 yards per carry for A.L. Brown. Grier is becoming a predictor of the Wonders' success: when he posts at least 80 rushing yards the team is 7-1 (and 1-2 when he doesn't).

South Iredell has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-8 record this season. As for A.L. Brown, their win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-3.

South Iredell does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for A.L. Brown, they will challenge Reagan at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Raiders' defense has only allowed 13.2 points per game this season, so the Wonders' offense will have their work cut out for them.
