Recap: Franklin Flyers vs. Kenesaw Blue Devils
The Franklin Flyers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their ninth straight loss. They lost to Kenesaw on the road by a decisive 55-40 margin. Franklin found out winning isn't easy when you don't work as a unit and post seven fewer assists than your opponent.
Despite the loss, Franklin still got an impressive performance from Gregory Boettcher, who scored 17 points along with two steals.
Kenesaw was led to victory by Blake Steer and Adam Denkert. Steer scored 13 points along with three steals, while Denkert scored 15 points along with eight rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Denkert has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jravin Suck, who scored six points along with eight rebounds.
Franklin bumped their record down to 1-10 with that defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for Kenesaw, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 6-5.
Franklin will be playing in front of their home fans against Heartland Lutheran at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Nebraska (Heartland Lutheran is ranked 266th, while Franklin is ranked 274th). As for Kenesaw, they will head out on the road to square off against Pleasanton at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday.
