Indian River has gone 9-1 against Hickory recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Indian River Braves will face off against the Hickory Hawks at 6:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Indian River has three straight victories, Hickory has six straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

Last Friday, Indian River earned a 53-43 win over Lakeland. Given the Braves' advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 90th, while the Cavaliers are ranked 201st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Hickory took a blow against Grassfield on Friday, falling 75-47.

Indian River pushed their record up to 12-8 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.0 points over those games. As for Hickory, their loss dropped their record down to 6-16.

Everything went Indian River's way against Hickory when the teams last played back in December of 2024, as Indian River made off with a 69-45 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Indian River since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
