The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the CPCA came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 24th, while the Tigers are ranked 173rd).

Meanwhile, DME Academy humbled Southern Coast Academy National with an 86-33 victory. That 53 point margin sets a new team best for the - this season.

Central Pointe Christian Academy has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-12 record this season. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.5 points over those games. As for DME Academy, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 18-11.

Things could have been worse for Central Pointe Christian Academy, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 64-50 loss to DME Academy in their previous meeting back in December of 2024. Can Central Pointe Christian Academy avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
